Hi Juan,

Thanks for the comment. I completely understand your frustration and anger and I would be right there with you in wanting to bring that flight attendant down. When I originally read your post I was astounded that something like that could happen. I then read through the comments and I began to see many different perspectives so I am torn about what is allowed and isn't allowed in a free society. I do agree, without a doubt that she handled the situation incorrectly and religion and Christianity has NOTHING to do with why the t-shirt may or may not have been offensive. I tend to error on the side of free speech and so I believe that a few people getting pissed is still an accepting side effect to having free speech without censorship in our society at large. I am also gay and so I have fought for years myself on where my faith fits into my beliefs.

Please keep us posted on any new developments if you decide to pursue the matter.

hey, i'm the guy that was forced to remove my shirt on the Delta flight... i understand that my shirt could be deemed offensive, when i told my mother what had happened, she was appalled, both at the stewardesses behavior AND (and to be perfectly honest probably more so) by what my t-shirt said. fact of the matter is, i just didn't think about it. i was hung over and had just returned from the gym and after showering had realized i was late so i grabbed the top tshirt and didn't really pay mind to what it said... i didn't MEAN to be offensive i just wasn't thinking.

that said, the behavior of the stewardess was enfuriating for many reasons, primarily because, AS a christian i have felt ostracized and persecuted by other so-called christians and my church for different political beliefs and sexual orientation. my faith is important to me and the stewardess' false use of Christianity as a reason to censor was the straw that broke the camel's back...

Open Letter to Stewardess on Delta

I'm conflicted on this post. Free speech is vital to a democracy, but common courtesy is vital to civilization....
